Fresh Fairy Ring Mushrooms | Scotch Bonnets (Faux Mousserons) Foraged in Europe

Price range: £9.90 through £29.90

Tiny, bold and steeped in folklore – Fairy Ring Mushrooms (aka Scotch Bonnets) are rich in flavour and perfect in pastas, stocks, or even desserts. Foraged in grasslands across Europe.

Tiny Mushrooms with Bold Flavour & Mythical Roots
Don’t be fooled by their size – Fairy Ring Mushrooms (also called Scotch Bonnets or Faux Mousserons) pack a rich, nutty flavour that shines in both savoury and even sweet recipes.

These mushrooms grow in distinctive rings in meadows and grasslands, earning their legendary name. Folklore once warned of fae creatures guarding these fairy rings – but we promise the only magic here is on your plate.

Seasonal & Regenerative
Fairy Ring Mushrooms return to the same spot after rainfall between late spring and early autumn, feeding off grass mulch and enriching the soil with nitrogen. A true example of nature’s cycle – and sustainably foraged when conditions allow.

How to Cook Them

You’ll find plenty of recipes online – even cakes! But here’s our quick favourite:

Fairy Ring Tagliatelle

  • Sauté with butter and shallots
  • Deglaze with dry white wine
  • Add a splash of stock and finish with more butter
  • Stir into al dente pasta with fresh herbs like sea beet or rock samphire
  • Plate into a circle… a nod to the fairies!
