Fresh Scottish Wood Sorrel, foraged in UK forests. A tangy, citrus-flavoured wild herb, prized by chefs for salads, garnishes, and adding a fresh apple-lemon note to fine dining dishes.
Wood Sorrel is ones of those funky wild ingredients that one can forage when trekking in the forest.
Wood Sorrel is small and cute, has beautiful little flowers when in season, and for these reason is often prized by chefs as an amazing garnish. Probably most importantly, Wood Sorrel has a delightful tangy, sour green apple/lemony taste similar in flavour to common sorrel.
Wood sorrel is great as a garnish, in salad or as a herb to add flavour.
In the wild, one can find wood sorrel in both deciduous and coniferous habitats. We prefer the coniferous habitats, which filters the light more efficiently thus reducing competition with other plants and making it easier for us to forage wood sorrel.
Note: Packed on premises handling wild nuts, seeds, mustard, celery, crustaceans & molluscs (trace via seaweed).
